High-strength sucker rods for heavy and deep oil fields are playing an increasingly important role in oil production operations. Compared with ordinary sucker rods, their long service life and good performance have overwhelming advantages in resource saving, energy consumption and replacement frequency.
High-strength sucker rod, also known as H-grade sucker rod, is divided into HL grade sucker rod with material strengthening and HY grade sucker rod with surface hardening technology strengthening. At present, HY grade ultra-high strength sucker rods widely used in oil fields are produced by induction heating surface quenching process after flaw detection and optimization based on the technology of D grade sucker rods. This type of sucker rod not only has high tensile strength and surface hardness, but also has the characteristics of internal toughness and external steel. In practical application, HY grade ultra-high strength sucker rod can not only reduce oil flow resistance, but also have high tensile strength, which can effectively extend the pump inspection period of oil wells. At present, many domestic oilfields have entered the late stage of development, with serious wax deposition and sand production in oil wells, and the corrosion and wear of downhole equipment such as oil pipes and sucker rods have intensified. The wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant products are more widely welcomed. HY grade ultra-high strength sucker rod is exactly what the majority of domestic oil fields need at present and in the future.
At present, most oil equipment manufacturers still use high-frequency induction heating equipment of electronic tube type or medium-frequency induction heating equipment of silicon controlled rectifier type to quench the surface of sucker rod. These two types of equipment are large in size, high in energy consumption and low in production efficiency. Moreover, due to the high internal voltage, there are potential safety hazards, and the power grid is also heavily polluted during operation. Moreover, the surface quenching production lines of sucker rods currently used in China are basically old-fashioned "trolley type" surface quenching production lines, which are time-consuming and laborious for loading and unloading, low automation and low production efficiency.
